Susan Hill is a seasoned professional/Certified Public Accountant with approximately 47 years of work experience, 40 years of which are in the accounting, tax, and employee benefit professions since graduating from college. She is the first in her family of seven (parents and siblings) to finish high school and to get a college degree.  

Growing up in Roanoke, Alabama, Susan went on to earn her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at University of West Georgia (1982) and soon called Georgia her home. After four years with the Internal Revenue Service as an examination agent and as a specialist in employee plans, she joined Metcalf Davis in 1987 as a senior tax associate. In 1989, Susan departed the firm to join the “Big Four” firm, KPMG, where she gained further expertise in public accounting. During her seventeen-year tenure with KPMG, Susan worked her way through the ranks and was promoted to partner and Southeast Practice Leader of the Compensation and Benefits Practice. 

Returning to Metcalf Davis in 2007, Susan offered a wealth of expertise to the Metcalf Davis staff and leadership. After rejoining Metcalf Davis, she assumed the responsibilities as the head of the private client practice group, as the partner in charge of the tax department, and as the firm’s personnel partner. In January of 2016, Metcalf Davis joined the Atlanta office of Warren Averett, and, consequently, Susan joined as an equity partner.  During her approximate six and ½ years with Warren Averett, she served as a line partner as well as the Tax Service Area Leader (SAL), leader of the Atlanta Tax Department.  

Susan is equipped to handle matters from diverse angles as she has experience in industry, with the Internal Revenue Service, and in public accounting. She serves individuals, privately owned businesses and employee benefit plans in multiple industries in a variety of states. In addition, nonprofit clients have historically been a large part of Susan’s practice area. From start-up to mature businesses, Susan strives to become a true “business partner” with all clients solving both small and large challenges.
